Programmed Training Services is excited to offer a Civil Construction Traineeship specialising in Road Construction and Maintenance in the Wide Bay region, QLD.

Throughout the traineeship, you will be hosted with a major civil construction company, RoadTek - whom provide excellent mentoring, training and encourage team work and innovation within their business. RoadTek provides transport and infrastructure solutions throughout Queensland a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

What We Offer:

Comprehensive Training: On the job training with RoadTek and off the job training with a specialised RTO, working towards completion of Certificate III in Civil Construction (RII30+20) - a nationally recognised qualification with a duration of 36 months

Supportive Environment: Mentoring from supervisors and the team within RoadTek, a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and also a dedicated Field Officer from Programmed Training Services who will support you throughout your journey

Your Role: As a Trainee Civil Construction Worker, you will work on major infrastructure projects in Toowoomba and the surrounding region. You will:

Learn to construct and rehabilitate roads and road furniture
Plan and organise work, carry out measurements and calculations
Read and interpret plans and specifications
Use hand and power tools and potentially obtain plant/machinery accredited tickets
Ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently and safely, complying with Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
Requirements:

Mandatory: OHS Construction White Card, current driver's license, reliable transport, flexibility to work days/nights and away on a roster, strong commitment to complete the traineeship and a motivated attitude
Applicants must live in the Wide Bay, QLD region

A pre-employment medical examination (including drug and ******* screening) is required

Desirable: Passion for hands-on work, general laboring experience, competent numeracy and literacy skills, proven teamwork experience, commitment to completing both theory and practical components of the qualification
