Balan Engineering Corp. is a growing Civil & Structural Engineering company focused on designing residential, commercial and industrial projects. We are licensed for Engineering in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, PEI, British Columbia and Yukon.​ Our team has worked on projects throughout Canada, USA, and the Caribbean Islands.

We are currently recruiting for a Civil Engineering Technologist/Technician (Surveyor) at our Tillsonburg Office.

The role will include but not limited to the following:

· Conduct surveying for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

· Prepare and coordinate detailed civil drawings including, profiles, sections, topographic surveys, grading plans, site servicing plans, stormwater management and site plans.

· Work with the Engineers to design Civil plans including grading, servicing and storm water management.

· Coordinate and communicate effectively with project team members, designers, clients, planners and external project consultants.

· Conduct construction administration work including site visits to monitor construction activities for conformance to design specifications and prepare detailed reports.

· Employ advanced tools and technologies such as GPS systems and total stations for accurate data collection.

· Understand and maintain knowledge of surveying practices, design codes, municipal bi-laws, and relevant design standards.

· Other duties as assigned by the lead Engineer.

Experience & Skills

· Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology/Technician or survey related program from an accredited academic institution is required.

· Ontario Land Surveyor license is an asset.

· Minium 5 years of experience in subdivision development, surveying and/or Civil Engineering.

· Strong knowledge of the site plan approval process, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

· Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong working knowledge of CAD and relevant surveying software and equipment.

· Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal oversight.

· Proficient in MS Office products.

· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
