Oatlands Primary School serves the residential area of the Oatlands and surrounding estates in Narre Warren which is in the southeast growth corridor of Melbourne.

The current enrolment is 105+ students at Oatlands Primary School.

Oatlands Primary School¿s philosophy is based on the belief that all students can learn and that learning best occurs in a happy and positive school environment.

The development of all our students is viewed as a shared responsibility between home and school. Parents are encouraged to assist their children's learning and to participate in school activities. This is achieved through effective communication, parent/teacher meetings, interviews, assistance in learning programs, public forums and information evenings, excursions, and participation in PFA, School Council and its Sub Committees.

A team approach to program planning at each grade level is a feature of the school's curriculum development. The school¿s places emphasis on student attainment of skills in Numeracy (number and measurement) and Literacy (writing).

Parent involvement in policy development, classroom programs and on School Council or its sub-committees is encouraged and welcomed. Parent education programs are offered throughout the year to further skill parents to better assist their children in their learning.

The school facilities consist of twenty bright, modern architecturally designed classrooms with shared withdrawal rooms and teachers' offices. There are thirty-two relocatable classrooms on-site. A Reading Recovery Centre is an important feature available for our `at risk¿ junior students. An Art/Craft Facility and a Kitchen are fully staffed and offer our students diverse learning opportunities. The basketball stadium/gym is used extensively during school hours and caters for community groups at other times.
