Cleaner position at Queensland Pathways State College - Townsville Campus.
QPSC is currently seeking a passionate, dedicated cleaner interested in creating and maintaining a bright, welcoming and engaging school environment. The position is 15 hours across 5 days, with potential for flexibility - 0.1+fte
About Us
Queensland Pathways State College is a special purpose State college established to support young people through their Senior phase of learning (15 to 18 years). Since 2017, QPSC Townsville Campus has facilitated the ongoing engagement and learning of over 300 Townsville young people.

As the cleaner, your role will be to support staff and students to create and maintain the positive school culture that has been established at QPSC. You will have flexibility in your work hours, and capacity to identify key improvement priorities you feel will add value to the school environment.
Your Opportunity
As The Cleaner, You Will
Contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning support.
Ensure that the duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by their supervisor, in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.
The Cleaner reports to the Head of Campus or nominated delegate.
Your Role
Appointments in the public sector are merit-based and will be assessed by looking at what you have done previously—the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities.
Responsibilities Include
Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
Hosing and pressure cleaning of concrete and paved surfaces.
Disposal of rubbish from internal and external bins.
Dusting and wiping of student and office furniture, equipment and fans.
Vacuuming and mopping of floors.
Vinyl floor maintenance.
Basic gardening duties, including watering of garden beds and pots, minor weed control.
Other appropriate cleaning duties as directed by the Head of Campus/Business Manager/Facilities Officer.
Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role Is
In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 a person is prohibited from working in regulated child-related employment unless the person holds a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued.
