Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Migration Specialist to lead and execute the transfer of our cloud-based services from one region to another region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, particularly with major providers like AWS and a proven track record of successful large-scale migrations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct a comprehensive inventory of all services, applications, and data in the current region
• Analyze dependencies between services and identify potential risks
• Develop a detailed migration strategy and timeline
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and tools that could benefit operations
• Design the target architecture in the new region, ensuring it meets or exceeds current performance standards
• Identify opportunities for optimization and modernization during the migration process
• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations in the new region
• Coordinate with teams to execute the migration
• Manage the actual transfer of data, applications, and services to the new region
• Monitor and tune the performance of migrated services in the new region
• Identify and resolve any latency or connectivity issues
• Create comprehensive documentation of the new regional setup
• Regularly communicate progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders
• Manage expectations and timelines with business units affected by the migration

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management and migration
• Deep expertise in major cloud platform (AWS)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, load balancing, and CDNs
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools ( CloudFormation, CDK’s)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Java, Kotlin, scala)
• Knowledge of database migration techniques
• Understanding of compliance and data sovereignty issues in different regions

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with multi-cloud environments
• Experience with large-scale data transfers and database migrations
• Expertise in Migration of Applications from one Region to another Region
• Understanding of DevOps practices and tools
• Excellent project management abilities
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Collaborative approach and ability to work with cross-functional teams
