Cloud Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. What if you could use your cloud architecture skills to improve military decision making and warfighter communications? We need you to help us develop cloud-based solutions for some of Department of Defense's toughest problems.

On our team, you'll design a secure, cloud-based applications to support mission-critical operations. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment using current cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with your clients to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.

You'll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You'll lead your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you'll broaden your skill set in areas like AI, automation and cloud-based security, while developing critical systems for Department of Defense.

You Have:

3+ years of experience with programming languages, including Python or GoLang
2+ years of experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools, including Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure
Knowledge of a major cloud platform, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Knowledge of network architectures and protocols
Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, including virtualization, storage, networking, and security
Ability to work with different database technologies, including relational and NoSQL
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud issues
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

Experience in scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of cloud security best practices and threat mitigation strategies
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in CS or IT
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Certified Administrator Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
