POSITION SUMMARY:

The co-op student assigned to ITS Client Technology Services will be participating in a unique program established by Peel Regional Police in partnership with colleges and universities. This program has been designed to assist students to satisfy graduation requirements by attaining hands-on work experience through a co-op placement. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a co-op program through their educational institution.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide basic remote user assistance for incidents under supervision of senior staff
Leverage dashboards and logs to monitor and report on system/platform health or performance metrics
Generate or modify reports, to support audits, reviews and other purposes.
Collect data on persistent technical issues and review associated logs
Initiating controlled Operating System (OS) deployments, verifying installations, and validating post-configuration functionality
Test OS and application updates in a lab environment before organization-wide deployment
Test hardware software and hardware to validate functionality and compatibility
Create or update documentation such as guides, how-tos, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and quick-reference materials
Clean and prepare sample datasets for testing purposes
Assist with the creation of reporting or data dashboards for various stakeholder
Perform basic system administration activities, such as creating and updating ServiceNow user profiles and groups
Assign roles and permissions under supervision of senior staff
Maintain ServiceNow reference data such as categories, priorities and assignment groups
Perform Unit testing for new system or platform configurations
Update logs for tracking system or platform bugs/issues
Performs additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled in an IT related program
Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Strong Analytical skills with a keen eye for attention to detail
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
Interest in learning more about current and emerging technologies

College/University co-op positions posted are for the Fall term and will run from September 8, 2025, to December 1+, 2025. Maximum placements are 15 weeks in length, with full time hours and are paid.
