JOB INFO

As a Framer you will be responsible for constructing, erecting, and repairing structures made of wood, plywood, and other materials in commercial/residential building projects. This role requires adherence to safety standards, precision, a strong understanding of construction blueprints, physical strength, and a thorough understanding of building materials and construction techniques. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in large-scale commercial wood construction, an eye for detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and the capability to perform physically demanding tasks

This project is located in Canmore, Alberta. CANA Services Ltd. will provide transportation to and from project site or provide a mileage expense. Travel time will be compensated.

YOU WILL

Construction And Installation
• Assemble prefabricated wood structures such as walls.
• Frame and sheath floors, decks, roofs, and stairways based on blueprints, sketches, instructions, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand tools, power tools, or woodworking machines.
• Install windows, doors, and other exterior or interior fixtures within the frame.

Blueprint Interpretation
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams to determine dimensions and materials required for specific projects.
• Attention to architectural and structural details is crucial.
• Ensure all framing aligns with the project specifications and meets building codes.

Material Management And Handling
• Select appropriate materials needed for framing tasks, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Ensure all wood and related materials meet quality standards and are stored properly to prevent damage.

YOU WILL NEED
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a wood framer or carpenter in commercial construction.
• Proven experience with large-scale commercial framing projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools used in wood framing.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools such as saws, nail guns, hammers, levels, and drills.
• Excellent measurement and math skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials.
• Ability to work at heights around 60’.
• Valid Driver’s License or means of transportation to project sites.
• Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of general math
• Demonstrate pride in work with attention to detail.
