Overview
The Commi 2 & 3 positions at our establishment in Domlur, Bangalore, are critical roles within our kitchen brigade, focusing on the efficient preparation of high-quality dishes that meet our establishment's standards. The Commis chefs will assist in all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring that every plate served maintains the integrity and excellence that our guests have come to expect. This role is essential for maintaining our food quality, hygiene standards, and operational efficiency, contributing directly to the overall dining experience of our customers. Both Commi 2 and Commi 3 levels offer opportunities for skill development, professional growth, and a chance to work closely with experienced chefs while embracing innovative culinary techniques.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in food preparation for different menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Ensure the proper handling, storage, and preparation of food in compliance with hygiene standards.
• Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Contribute to the daily mise en place tasks to ensure a smooth service.
• Learn and execute various cooking techniques efficiently.
• Participate in menu item preparation and daily specials, bringing ideas to the team.
Help maintain inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Follow instructions for food presentation and garnish plating.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen at all times.
• Assist in the training of new kitchen staff and apprentices.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
• Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and tools.
• Help in managing food waste and portion control.
• Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques to enhance skills.
• Work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Commi 2 or Commi 3 in a busy kitchen environment.
• Certification from a culinary school or equivalent training.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Strong understanding of various cooking methods and techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high pressure.
• Good knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Adaptability to changing tasks and workloads.
• Passion for cooking and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
High attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
