WeDriveU’s Community & Events Manager will support internal and external networks, events, and community service programs that embody our brand, company culture, and community ties. You’ll serve as a lead and ambassador for employee affinity groups, giving programs, and industry and company events. This candidate will strengthen bonds with communities WeDriveU serves by bringing internal and external projects to fruition across our 50+ U.S. locations, aligning them with causes important to WeDriveU, our customers, and partners.
Role
We’re looking for someone who thrives on creative concepts that showcase cutting-edge technologies, social engagement techniques, and unique experiences. In this role, you will:
• Champion WeDriveU’s Employee Resource Groups by providing strategic guidance and oversight in collaboration with steering committees, executive sponsors, members, and allies. You’ll help expand our ERGs by developing workplans to serve members and allies, and guide unified planning and needs assessments to align collective ERG efforts with WeDriveU’s strategy, goals, and values.
• Nurture a culture of volunteerism across WeDriveU by engaging with our workforce and shaping programs and policies that resonate with employees and drive social impact. This includes project-managing nationwide initiatives such as our annual Stuff the Bus campaign and designing and launching local partnerships and projects.
• Inspire and serve the unique needs and aspirations of our large, distributed workforce of 5,500 employees serving millions of passengers annually.
• Catapult our brand and corporate presence by managing our involvement in industry trade shows, conferences and regional events.
• Design processes, systems, and best practices to develop and launch new ERGs, community partnerships and experiential events.
• Curate stories to celebrate our incredible team and culture, and highlight the people and qualities that make this the best place to catapult your career.
• Lead with metrics utilizing technology to drive awareness and participation while defining and tracking KPIs to measure results.
• Lend your creativity and energy to design and execute campaigns and drive fanatical participation.
Responsibilities
• Establish annual plans and budgets to align with WeDriveU’s business goals, diversity and workforce development objectives, and our company values
• Build model for ERG leadership, governance, member onboarding, budgets, best practices, and policies, and consult with ERG Steering Committees on growth strategies for programs, member benefits, membership growth and ally engagement
• Build process and roadmap for evaluating and introducing new ERGs.
• Manage ERG and community calendars, facilitate events, and craft campaigns and materials to drive awareness and participation
• Develop training and coaching model and templates to support ERG leaders in their volunteer roles (ie budget management; marketing, membership recruitment, onboarding and development). Collaborate with our People team to tailor resources and benefits for members.
• Manage research, planning, logistics, team mobilization and finance for WeDriveU’s conference and trade show calendar.
• Lead implementation of WeDriveU programs such as WeCare (community) and Growing Local Roots (sustainability)
• Identify news-worthy and award-worthy stories
• Facilitate listening and brainstorming sessions with employees and executive stakeholders and conduct pulse surveys
• Support new hire onboarding by promoting employee networks, community programs
• Project-manage relevant content areas on the employee portal
• Develop and track KPIs
Skills Needed
• 5+ years of experience with employee networks, community service and industry trade show logistics
• People-forward, empathetic leader
• Experience supporting similar roles in a large, dispersed organization
• Proactive and detailed-oriented with excellent written, verbal, and budget management skills
• Confident and persuasive speaker in large virtual and in-person events
• Ability to collaborate and evangelize at all levels organizations up to C-suite
