Purpose of your Position - Non Union
Classification Summary - Union
A Community Development Coordinator inspires, encourages, facilitates and empowers the community to provide activities that improve the quality of life and vibrancy of Kelowna.
Duties - Union
Collaborate with individuals, community based organizations, registered societies, networks, coalitions and informal groups to:
Build community engagement at the community level (strengthen social capital)
Support the development and delivery of programs, services and events that enhance community life
Increase the community’s capacity to engage, initiate and support activities and events that improve the quality of life and vibrancy of the community.
Coordinate community grant programs.
Respond to telephone and in-person public enquiries and work cooperatively to provide quality customer service.
Develop and maintain a variety of communications and resource materials to support initiatives and activities.
Conduct community presentations.
Research and analyze data/information related to community needs, trends and opportunities.
Design, manage and evaluate initiatives, programs and projects.
Prepare reports, correspondence and maintain a wide variety of manual and computerized departmental records and file systems.
Process financial documents and monitor budgets.
