Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Content Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences or healthcare and a passion for writing clear, accurate, and engaging medical content. This role involves creating educational, promotional, and SEO-optimised content for a range of platforms, including websites, blogs, patient guides, and marketing materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and write high-quality medical content tailored to both professional and patient audiences.
Develop a range of materials including blog posts, website copy, newsletters, treatment guides, and social media content.
Ensure all content is evidence-based, medically accurate, and aligned with brand tone and regulatory guidelines.
Collaborate with doctors, researchers, marketing teams, and designers to produce informative and engaging content.
Stay up to date with medical literature, trends, and innovations relevant to assigned topics.
Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy.
Follow SEO best practices to optimise content for online visibility.
Adhere to internal editorial standards and external compliance requirements (e.g., MHRA, GMC).
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or related field.
Excellent written English and communication skills.
Proven experience in medical, scientific, or health-related content writing (portfolio required).
Ability to interpret and simplify complex medical information.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with referencing tools and guidelines (e.g., NICE, NHS, PubMed, Cochrane).
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with SEO writing and content marketing.
Previous work with healthcare brands, clinics, or medical publications.
Understanding of UK healthcare system and terminology.
Knowledge of regulatory writing or medical copywriting is a plus.
