The
Occupational Health and Safety Diploma Program is seeking a dedicated and
knowledgeable Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Instructor to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality
instruction in OHS courses, developing curriculum, and fostering a positive
learning environment for students.
Key
Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive OHS
courses.
• Prepare and update course materials, including
syllabi, assignments, and exams.
• Provide students with timely and constructive
feedback. Ability to submit marks/records promptly.
• Provide direct classroom/lab instruction while
utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation
and learning in a skill-building environment.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career
goals.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to
curriculum development.
• Maintain professional and ethical relationships with
students and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and
procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends and integrate
relevant information into the curriculum.

Qualifications:
• Diploma in OHS or equivalent; a related Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree in OHS or Education or related area would be an asset.
• Professional certification (ROH/CIH/CRSP/CSP) designation.
• Minimum 5 years practical experience in occupational
health & safety.
• Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary
level is an asset.
• Equivalencies will be considered.
Applicants with
education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials
evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications
Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: Will
commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits
package.
Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00
annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,++8.00 - $85,88+.00
annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification
– Instructor).
This
position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective
Agreement.
