Accommodation and Insurance supports New Zealanders who have been affected by a natural disaster. The service is made up of two complimentary services the Temporary Accommodation Service (TAS) and the New Zealand Claims Resolution Service (NZCRS). These services provide emergency temporary accommodation when people are not able to return to their properties and specialised insurance support and advice to help homeowners receive fair, timely and enduring insurance settlements.

Tenei turanga - About the Role:
As a Contracts Advisor, you'll work closely with the Commercial Manager and leadership team to ensure our supplier contracts deliver maximum value-driving performance, compliance, and financial precision across the board.

You'll take ownership of the full contract lifecycle, streamline invoicing, and provide accurate forecasting that directly supports smarter decision-making. Your work will lead to faster payments, stronger supplier relationships, and improved operational readiness during times of national need.

You'll support procurement activities, prepare official memos and ministerial briefings, and oversee contract extensions in accordance with public sector standards. Your work will involve navigating government systems to ensure transparent, accountable service delivery that maintains the integrity of public operations.

By maintaining high standards and identifying process improvements, you'll help us deliver critical services more efficiently and effectively.

; Proven experience in contracts administration, invoicing, budgeting, and/or logistics coordination
; Strong financial acumen with experience in cost tracking, reporting and forecasting
; Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and contract/finance systems
; Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
; Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
; A commitment to process integrity, continuous improvement and high-quality service
; Experience working within the machinery of government, including procurement processes, drafting official memos or ministerial briefings, and managing contract extensions
; Experience in accommodation, insurance, housing, or building is a plus
