Our projects business unit is proven in multi-disciplinary project delivery, with capabilities for delivering Brownfields and Greenfield CAPEX or OPEX work packages. We have a proven track record of successfully completing a high volume of project packages for our Blue Chip mining client base and have recently been awarded a number of significant new projects. From design through to completion and handover, we are able to supply, maintain and manage all aspects of projects works including, remedial works, capital works and expansion projects.
THE ROLE
Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Contracts Specialist to join our existing team on permanent full times basis. Located at our Perth CBD Head Office and reporting to the Commercial Manager, as a Contractors Specialist you will be responsible for:
Providing contract support and assistance to Project Managers or Coordinators for each project ensuring all head contract obligations are being met
Ensuring all commercial and specific timing requirements of major head contracts are complied with including variation/EOT notifications, variation/EOT claims, monthly progress claims, formal correspondence and project reporting
Working closely with project personnel to ensure all subcontract packages (both supply and install) are let on appropriate terms in accordance with Linkforce policies
Dealing with progress claims, variation claims, notices of delay, extension of time claims and delay & disruption claims from subcontractors
Attending and actively participating in all regular internal and client project meetings
Assisting Project Managers with project close out and reviews
Learn and transfer knowledge and application of Linkforce’s policies and procedures in relation to procurement, supply chain and contract administration to Project Coordinators and Managers.
Developing and maintain good working relationships with clients, internal personnel, external suppliers and subcontractors
Continually review and seek ways to improve productivity including making suggestions changes to existing processes & systems
Complying with and support company Quality Management Systems, processes and procedures and provide feedback for future improvement
Actively promote and adhere to all Linkforce HSEQ policies and procedures
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in a contract administration/specialist or similar role (either pre or post award), preferably within the mining/resources industry
Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, engineering, law, project management, business studies or related discipline
Complete understanding and application of contract administration principles
Experience in developing internal and external networks to create positive relationships and seek collaborative solutions
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills in particular in writing letters and undertaking summary calculations using excel
Strong attention to detail skills when working to deadlines in a fast paced and changing environment
Demonstrated ability to be part of a broader team whilst retaining the ability to work on an individual basis
High levels of computer literacy with a focus on commonly used project tools including Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Project
Active participation in departmental goals, objectives and project
