Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The Controller will manage financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance to support strategic and operational goals. This role is critical to maintaining financial integrity, ensuring transparency, and driving informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or local GAAP).
Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls over financial processes and systems.
Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in collaboration with department leaders.
Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements in applicable jurisdictions.
Oversee audits and manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
Provide financial leadership on operational initiatives, capital projects, and growth strategies.
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (professional accounting designation such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with prior experience in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
Proficient with financial management systems and business applications (experience with ERP systems is an asset).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior leadership.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to financial management.
