Job Description:

We are looking for a Cook to join our amazing kitchen team in one of our beautiful assisted living and long-term care facilities. Previous experience cooking for the senior community is preferred but not required!

As a Cook you will play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, well-balanced, and delicious meals. You will work as part of a collaborative kitchen team and follow dietary guidelines tailored to our residents' specific needs, including those with dietary restrictions.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals according to the facility’s menu and dietary plans.
Ensure meals meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
Assist in the planning and preparation of special meals and events.
Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Support special dietary requests, including those for residents with allergies, diabetes, or other health-related conditions.
Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Qualifications:

1 year previous experience as a Cook, cooking from scratch in a kitchen, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting.
FoodSafe Certification required (or willingness to obtain).
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and nutrition for seniors.
Ability to follow recipes and special dietary plans.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
