Read staff policy and procedure handbook and sign that you understand its context
Fill out required forms to be kept in your personnel file
Must have a Alberta certified Food Handling Certificate
Must have Alberta Level 1 Certification
Job Responsibilities / Duties

Prepare weekly menus
Work with Administration Team for approval
Prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks for all classrooms
Serve meals to each classroom on time, at the appropriate temperature
Work with staff to collect meal numbers before food preparation of each meal
Prepare appropriate amounts of food for each classroom, with amounts served meeting Alberta guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all food storage areas
Make sure all thermometers are working properly
Ensure all food items are checked for expiration dates
Wash and sanitize all dishes
Clean the entire kitchen and appliances throughout the day
Remove trash and recyclables daily
Organize and put away all groceries, food orders and non-food items
Supervise and engage with children in daily activities to promote their physical, emotional, and social development.
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Daycare professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children. You will play a crucial role in their development through structured activities, meals, and supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and a passion for working with children.

Skills

Strong background in food service, including knowledge of food safety practices.
Experience in meal preparation and cooking for large groups.
Familiarity with food handling procedures within a daycare or restaurant setting.
Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and staff effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children are essential qualities.

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 32 per week
