La maison is a vegan and organic café created by three friends: an Indian and two French. Located inside the Alliance Française d’Ahmedabad premises near Shyamal Crossroads, this café aims at offering a menu that is both healthy and environment-conscious.

We are looking for a chef to join our team and prepare lip-smacking dishes for our customers. The chef will be supporting the 2 French cooks in delivering consistently high-quality food.

Job profile:
Explore new flavors and tastes in association with the 2 French cooks
Look after the supply and inventory management, deliveries of goods and negotiate raw materials
Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and duties/tasks assigned by the superiors
Self-update with the new products, recipes and preparation techniques
Estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation.
Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
Ensure hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness in all areas of the kitchen, including storage and equipments.
Experiment with new recipes, modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests
Knowledge of peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits

Expected personal skills:
Reactivity, autonomy, multitasking and rigor
Good communication skills, teamwork and strong organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of culinary art
Knowledge and/or experience of baking and pastry techniques will be given preference.

Important details:
Basic knowledge of English is mandatory
Minimum 2 years experience with a similar job
Have a diploma in the food industry is mandatory
Type: Full Time (+ hours per day / 1 day off per week)
