The opportunity:
Are you someone who dreams big, leads with heart, and is committed to creating transformative experiences for Indigenous students?
The University of Manitoba is seeking a Coordinator, Indigenous Leadership Programming, to lead two impactful initiatives: the Indigenous Circle of Empowerment (ICE) and the Bison Spirit Indigenous Leadership Programs.
Indigenous Circle of Empowerment (ICE) is an identity-affirming and culturally-centered leadership program for Indigenous students with 30 or more credit hours or that have previously completed the Bison Spirit program. ICE supports personal and professional growth through weekly gatherings, connection with Elders and Indigenous leaders, and various other opportunities to learn about and practice leadership. It offers a space where students strengthen their identities, build community, and grow as changemakers.
Bison Spirit is an identity-affirming and culturally-centered leadership program for first-year Indigenous students with fewer than 30 credit hours. It nurtures personal development, leadership skills, and academic success through workshops, networking, and opportunities to learn from Indigenous leaders. Bison Spirit provides a strong foundation for students to feel confident in who they are and connected to a supportive community from their first year at UM.
If you are passionate about helping the next generation thrive, we encourage you to apply.
