Overall Requirements:
Developing strong relationships with our Sales and Product team so that you can act as a trusted advisor to facilitate solution improvements. You will work collaboratively with our Account Executives to guide our customers through all their product options and prescribe solutions based on their needs. As a Costing/Sales Engineer, you will actively drive and manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and services advocate.
Using technical creativity and business acumen, you will illustrate the value that Renaissance’s services can provide. You must be able to engage and define our positioning to both internal and external stakeholders. You will also identify technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
Responsibilities:
Define cost assumptions or constraints
Document approach and procedures
Conduct time studies of a product being repaired
Complete cost roll-ups for parts, follow the estimating life‐cycle – ongoing effort
Establish an MSRP for items - ongoing
Maintain a master cost and pricing table – ongoing
Work with Finance and Ops to develop a costing model tool
Look for efficiency in repair process and update costs accordingly or adjust overall costing models, if required
Work with Sales and CPMs on bid costing, and ensure items being bid on have been validate for true costs
Assist in preparing cost data for proposals and contract negotiations
Drive meetings with groups to improve and maintain costs throughout the overall process
Validate costs to bids post awards and advise if true ups are required
P&L analysis by program, or customer
Create presentations and present reports of trends and findings to management
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial or other related engineering field
Minimum of three years’ experience in cost engineering, cost estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating and other areas of project/program controls in a manufacturing environment
Intermediate/advanced level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office programs
Functional knowledge of accounting, financial accounting, operations in Telecom Industry
Knowledge and experience in ISO‐+001 requirements
Knowledge and experience in ERP systems, Net-Suite preferred
Proficient with computer programs and a working knowledge of new technology
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co‐workers, outside agencies, business partners, and consultants
