The ideal candidate will have a passion for defending clients and be committed to offering exemplary legal representation. As a key member of the firm, the successful candidate will take on a first-chair role, managing a varied docket of criminal cases with full support from a dedicated legal team, including paralegals and administrative staff.Duties:Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare various legal documents such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondenceRepresent clients in court, advocating on their behalf during hearings, trials, and other legal proceedingsSupervise and provide leadership to administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerksManage and organize case files, client meetings, court appearances, and deadlines effectivelyAdvise clients by analyzing available options, formulating strategies, and recommending courses of action to achieve the best possible outcomesOversee client billing, invoicing, and project finalization processes in collaboration with administrative teamsProblem-solve and develop creative solutions to legal challenges faced by clientsRequirements:Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or criminal law practiceMust be an active member of the local bar associationExperience working with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisEducation:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolMust hold a valid law license in the state of Oklahoma or be eligible to obtain oneCertifications:Active membership in the local Bar Association is requiredSkills:Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and public speaking abilitiesExcellent interpersonal skills and effective communication, both written and verbalAbility to work independently while managing multiple cases simultaneouslyAdvanced proficiency with legal research software (Westlaw and Lexis)Job Location:Edmond, OK
