Critical Care Paramedic Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Critical Care Paramedic is to respond to calls for service, provide critical care as needed, and transport sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility. The Critical Care Paramedic will also function competently as a driver.
Qualifications:
The Critical Care Paramedic must possess the following qualifications:
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively with other crew members and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports.
Strong organization skills and attentiveness to detail.
Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.
Physically able to perform all tasks required in the performance of typical Paramedic duties including but not limited to bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting (minimum 70 lbs).
Ability to conduct a thorough examination of the patient for signs and symptoms of illness or injury. And assist other medical personnel to accomplish this as necessary.
Ability to provide prompt medical care to the patient for the stabilization of their condition prior to transport.
Ability to clean and restock the unit to place the unit back in service.
Ability to precept students or new employees.
Requirements:
The individual in this position must possess the following requirements:
Age 21 at time of offer letter.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
CCP-C or FPC-C with Southern Nevada Health District endorsement or ability to challenge.
AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS provider
PHTLS or ITLS (within 6 months)
Current Nevada driver's license with clean driving record.
Pass medical evaluation, drug screening, and background process.
Ability to obtain other qualifications specific to the local operation, City and/or contract within 60 days of hire.
Complete New Hire Orientation training within +0 days of hire.
Preferred:
NREMT
EVOC certification
