Crop Care Manager
General objective of the role
The Crop Care Manager is responsible for performing agronomic field tests and trials throughout North America, mainly in California and the Pacific Northwest, showcasing agronomic and financial improvements from usage of Ecorobotix products. This position will ensure that developed algorithms are utilized as intended, the machine is fully optimized, and the full operating system is refined as needed to maximize grower benefits in the field. Additional work will consist of planning, in-season scouting with data collection, and reporting on the performed field tests. In addition, the Crop Care Manager will work closely with various business and technical stakeholders to develop capabilities to utilize Ecorobotix products in additional crops and to improve the performance of the products.
Reporting lines and interactions
This role will report to the Managing Director of North America. Internally, this position will be closely working with the sales organization, customer support, and crop data technicians. Externally, this position will be collaborating with growers, dealers, universities and their extensions.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop crop plans for weed, pest, disease control, and application of foliar fertilizers. Performing validation of those crop plans in agronomic field tests.
• Customer consulting on crop protection questions and chemical application recommendations.
• Research tasks for Product Managers and R+D related to local territory conditions.
• Perform algorithm field testing for local conditions.
• Manage Crop Data Technicians.
• Work closely with After-Sales team.
• Provide sales support as needed.
• Planning, in-season scouting, data collection, and evaluation of field tests.
• Advise and follow-up of field tests set-up in conjunction with our partners.
• Handling and deployment of ARA (North America, Ecorobotix sprayer) in the field for tests and training.
• Possess agronomic knowledge and observations related to the product development process.
• Prospect and analyze future crops and opportunities for ARA by discussing with customers and partners.
• Travel up to 60% throughout North America.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Weed Science, Soil Science or related field.
• Masters in similar fields preferred.
• Expertise in crop protection.
• Expertise in speciality crop production and weed knowledge.
• Agriculture equipment knowledge and experience.
• Specifically, application equipment preferred.
• Ability to do practical work driving a tractor and trial implementation.
• Open minded for new technology and informatics.
• Solid network with growers and extension services.
Experience / Skills
• 5+ years of experience, with proven track record, in agriculture related R&D or sales or practical agriculture.
• Experience in AgTech is a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, willingness to build relationships with customers.
• High degree of independence, reliability, and initiative.
• Dedicated person with systematic, goal-oriented working methods.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with clear & consistent communication.
• Rigorous, pragmatic, and having strong empathy.
• Drive, autonomy, curiosity, and team player.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently during the peak season
