We are currently seeking a Culinary Operations Leader to join our dedicated team at Dishforth Airfield, YO7 3EZ. This is a permanent, full-time position offering 40 hours per week, across 5 days with varying shifts from 7am to 8pm. Please note that security checks, including a DBS check, will be required for this position.

A Day in the Life of a Culinary Operations Leader:
• Lead and inspire the culinary team while ensuring efficient operations in the kitchen.
• Oversee daily preparation and assign tasks to chefs, commis chefs, and kitchen staff.
• Manage staff schedules to promote a positive work/life balance and address holiday cover needs.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental Health Officer (EHO) guidelines and uphold high sanitation standards.
• Plan and execute exquisite food presentations and silver service meals.
• Prepare and cook a diverse array of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
• Collaborate with your team, fostering a supportive environment.
• Utilize recipe cards to guarantee consistent meal quality and presentation.
• Maintain accurate kitchen paperwork for due diligence processes.
• Assist with stock management and deliveries.
• Monitor food temperature records and ensure kitchen cleanliness standards are met.
• Embrace sustainability by managing food production levels to minimize waste.
• Act as a mentor and trainer for new team members, ensuring they understand kitchen standards and expectations.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Have:
• Experience in a similar contract catering environment.
• NVQ Level 2/3 or extensive experience in a bustling kitchen setting.
• Proficiency with IT tools and Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of modern food production methods and trends.
• A strong understanding of food allergens and safety practices.
• Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
• A keen attention to detail.
• A valid driving license and access to transportation is preferred due to the site location.
