What we are looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator who is customer focused, collaborative and a team player. This role will be responsible for the monitoring availability, performance, capacity, and integrity of customer’s databases.

The support and problem management are the next priority for this role to make sure all issues are addressed. This role has advisory aspect regarding optimisation of the environment from end user, application and platform perspectives. Security of the database environment is the other responsibility for the DBA.

Responsibilities

• Manage and configure the DB environment from data management perspective including replication, backup and performance recovery.

• End-to-end management of problem resolution including independently analysing, solving, and correcting issues in real time.

• Address all reoccurring SQL issues by doing RCA and automate recurring maintenance and housekeeping processes.

• Utilise the tools and processes within the team to track issues, and document changes at Configuration Item and Environment documentation levels.

• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.

• Conduct assessments, provide recommendations and create roadmap and solutions for our customer’s based on consulting practice methodology.

• Assist with data migration and support of SQL databases to cloud.

• Implement and enforce database security and authentication process.

• Capacity planning, performance and monitoring of database solutions.

• Root cause analysis and end to end management of monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving problems within the database environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in MS SQL Server Administration.

• Tertiary Qualification in IT or related discipline.

• ITIL foundation Certification is preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting experience with databases.

• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.

• Understanding of the cloud environments including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, particularly within Azure.

• Proven experience in SQL Server upgrades and migrations, including Database Integrated Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS
