Job Description
• Database version upgrades
• Patch testing and deployment
• Proactive database capacity planning
• Performance and scalability goals
• High availability and disaster recovery goals
• Data security and protection
• Functionality, stress, and load testing
• Compliance initiatives (SOX, PCI, etc.)
• Participate in production on-call Execute major database migrations as well as application migrations, with minimal system downtime
• Ensure database standards are followed and implemented
• Database health monitoring
• Technical Documentation
• Review procedures
• Write queries to create custom reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Sprint Deployments – database modifications and/or data fixes written by developer team
• Advise developer team on best practices
• Restore databases from backups to support data specific production investigations
• Database and SQL Tuning

Describe Skill and Experience
• DBA expert in MySQL and MySQL Enterprise environments (versions 3.23 through Latest version), including clustering and complex master/master-master/slave replication schemes, as well as variants (Percona MySQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Maria DB, Galera, products, etc.)
• Experience in SQL and PL/SQL scripting and tuning
• Experience with Linux (and Windows preferred) required including Shell Scripting.
• Knowledge of DB Tools/Utilities (e.g., PgAdmin)
• 1+ years experience with Cloud technology: Preferred – AWS, else GCP or Azure
• Experience with PostgreSQL disaster recovery, failover, and rebuilding of database linux box
• AWS / GCP managed Postgres experience
• Experience migrating from a local-install Postgres into a cloud managed postgres
• Experience with very large databases, both in terms of Record count and Schema size
