We are looking for a skilled and versatile Database Developer cum Admin to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both SQL and NoSQL databases, with extensive experience in Oracle SQL. This role combines database development and administration, focusing on optimizing database performance, managing data integrity, and ensuring reliable database operations.
Responsibilities
• Database Development: Design, develop, and implement database solutions, including schema design, stored procedures, triggers, and views. Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
• Database Administration: Manage and maintain databases, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security. Perform regular database backups, restore operations, and recovery planning.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize query performance, indexing, and resource usage. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Data Migration and Integration: Plan and execute data migration and integration tasks, ensuring data consistency and integrity across different systems and platforms.
• Security Management: Implement and enforce database security policies, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing. Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular backup operations and disaster recovery testing.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, configurations, and procedures. Generate reports on database performance, usage, and incidents.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of database systems with applications and services. Provide support for application development and troubleshooting.
• Database Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations. Ensure minimal disruption to database operations during maintenance activities.
Required Skills And Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications are a plus.
• Technical Expertise:
• SQL: Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, procedures, and scripts. Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• NoSQL: Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis. Understanding of NoSQL data models and use cases.
• Oracle SQL: Extensive experience with Oracle SQL, including performance tuning, PL/SQL programming, and Oracle Database administration.
• Database Tools: Familiarity with database management tools and platforms. Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools for database performance.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Project Management: Experience managing database projects, from design and development to deployment and maintenance. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or equivalent.
• Experience with Cloud Databases: Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Knowledge of ETL Tools: Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools and data warehousing concepts.
• Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and administrative tasks.
