Job Description

We’re Hiring: Daycare Centre Manager

Location: Richmond, BC Centre

Capacity: 200 Children | Team: 45 Staff

Are you a skilled leader ready to take on the dynamic challenge of managing a large-scale licensed daycare? We are seeking a confident and experienced Daycare Centre Manager to lead our team, support staff excellence, and ensure the highest standards of care for children and families.

About the Role

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that all the classrooms’ environments meet our centre’s standards for safety, care, and early learning quality. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, professional integrity, and a collaborative approach to daily operations and staff development.

What We’re Looking For

● Demonstrated leadership experience in a licensed daycare or early learning setting

● At least 2 years in a supervisory or management position

● Comprehensive knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations

● Excellent skills in administration, organization, and team leadership

● Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

● Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to support staff, families, and external agencies

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Centre Oversight

● Ensure daily operations across all classrooms align with centre policies and expectations

● Provide leadership presence through classroom observations, staff coaching, and team meetings

● Offer guidance and support to educators to uphold high-quality care and curriculum standards

● Model a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture

Staff Management & Development

● Supervise and evaluate educators and support staff

● Identify areas for professional growth and support staff development

● Promote a respectful and collaborative work environment

Health, Safety & Licensing

● Monitor compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and health and safety standards

● Maintain up-to-date documentation and incident reporting practices

● Foster a strong safety culture across the centre

Human Resources & Training

● Support hiring, onboarding, and practicum coordination

● Encourage ongoing learning and certification opportunities

Family & Community Engagement

● Build trusting relationships with families to support their child’s care and development

● Collaborate with agencies and attend planning meetings to enhance family services

Marketing & Program Promotion

● Develop outreach strategies and maintain a positive online presence

● Help plan and promote programs and events to increase centre visibility

Curriculum & Event Planning

● Coordinate special events, seasonal programming, and inclusive cultural celebrations

Schedule & Compensation

● Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, on-site)

● Annual Salary: $60,000 to $75,000

● Benefits: Dental Care | Extended Health Care

Qualifications

● Valid ECE Certificate; preference for Infant/Toddler or Special Needs specialization

● Minimum 3 years of experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting

● At least 2 years’ in a management or supervisory role

● Familiarity with social media, marketing, and agency partnerships is an asset
