Demi Chef at Hyatt Centric Melbourne:
Based in the Melbourne CBD, the Demi Chef is a vital role within Hyatt Centric Melbourne’s culinary team. The Demi Chef will be responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel’s kitchens, by creating Melbourne best dishes and experiences.
Some of the responsibilities include:
To ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and are of high quality
To organize and set up their assigned section of the kitchen effectively
To assist the Chef De Cuisine in ensuring culinary standards comply with the Hyatt’s policies, procedures and standards
Ensure all kitchens are kept hygienically clean and follow necessary food safety practices
To assist management with the training of new associates when needed
Qualifications
About you:
Previous experience as a Demi Chef or Commis Chef in a similar fast-paced, fine dining or a la cart environment
Experience with both Modern Australian and Classic European cuisine is preferred
Capable of running the hot section of the kitchen
HACCP and hygiene practices knowledge
Able to working in a fast-paced high end restaurant or hotel
Willingness to learn all aspects of the kitchen and work in both the restaurant and events
Good communication skills, attitude and be a team player
