Are you highly experienced at managing the full lifecycle of events? Are you organised, methodical and calm, with unquestionable attention to detail. Can you deliver amazing and memorable events to deadlines and within budget? Are you available to start a new role at short notice?
We are looking for a seasoned Events Manager to join our established fundraising department, as soon as possible for a 6 month period, to support and deliver a wide range of events across the RSC. Working in the events team you will oversee the successful delivery of quality RSC Development and Stakeholder events in Stratford-upon-Avon and London to support our organisational objectives.
The Development Services and Events team run events which support the strategic objectives and priorities of the RSC including prospect cultivation, donor stewardship, corporate membership and sponsorship activity.
Reporting to the Senior Development Events Manager, some of your duties and responsibilities will include (see the job description for the comprehensive list):
• Planning, creating, implementing and managing a variety of cross-organisational events, across all RSC locations showcase our work and support objectives and priorities.
• Working closely with RSC colleagues, Board members and volunteer leadership, external contractors and stakeholders to manage every aspect of events ensuring extremely high-quality standards for the success of RSC events and reputation building.
• Venue-booking, setting up, catering and dressing venues, coordinating guest lists, ticket allocations, invitations and RSVPs.
• Delivering and managing events budgets, contributing to raising expected income and meeting return on investment targets.
• Coordinating all database activity and information management relating to guest lists
• Representing the RSC Development team at events and being an effective ambassador at all times
• Promoting GDPR, the Fundraising Code of Practice compliance and striving for fundraising best practice
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
• Demonstrable experience of successful end-to-end event management
• A record of delivering against budgets
• Highly developed event planning and delivery skills
• Highly organised and methodical, with attention to every event detail
• Presentation as a highly credible advocate with major stakeholders
• Dedicated and responsible attitude towards work and related targets
• Belief in the importance of the work of the RSC
• Excellent verbal and written skills, together with confidence when communicating at all levels of seniority, internally and externally.
We are ideally looking for someone to start in this role early-mid October on a full-time, fixed term contract basis for 6 month. You will be based in London, with some remote working. This role will involve some travel to Stratford-upon-Avon events.
To be successful in this role you will need a positive can-do approach, someone who relishes putting guests first and delivering brilliant and memorable events. It is not essential for you to have worked in an Arts or fundraising environment, what is important is your experience of planning and delivering outstanding events.
The standard operating hours of the Development Department are Monday to Friday with team members working within 8am and 6pm, but as this role involves supporting on events there will be work required outside of normal working hours and on weekends.
