The key mission of this role will be to support our modern data engineering platform to enable AI-driven decision-making within operations.
The right candidate will bring an understanding of the deployment, tooling and platform support required to enable modern data engineering teams to focus on the development of reliable data pipelines to improve data accessibility and manage technical debt, and a passion for automation, scalability, and performance optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Designing, maintaining, and automating cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Developing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for back-end systems, APIs, databases, and server-side applications to ensure smooth and reliable deployments.
Collaborating with development and operations teams to diagnose and resolve performance and reliability issues across the technology stack.
Creating and maintaining new data pipelines using cloud infrastructure.
Implementing proactive monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
Ensuring infrastructure adheres to best practices in security, reliability, and performance optimisation.
Participating in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Mentoring team members in DevOps principles and promote automation and reliability engineering across the organisation.
Participating in agile ceremonies, maintaining ticket status, and maintaining a high standard of documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in STEM field — or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in DevOps, Data Engineering or a similar role.
Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and their core services and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform & Cloudformation, with relevant certifications (i.e. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Terraform Associate) a plus.
Proficiency in modern data engineering languages, including Python and SQL.
Experience with common tools used for CI/CD for DataOps, including familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with data and analytics concepts such as ETL, data pipelines and dimensional modeling.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
Proficient with version control systems, especially Git.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
