Position Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you will play a vital role in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing our fleet of company vehicles, including vans, pick-up trucks, tractors, trailers, and various types of refrigeration and air conditioning systems. You will be responsible for performing both routine preventative maintenance and major repairs, ensuring high safety and quality standards are adhered to. Your ability to communicate and work effectively within a team will be crucial to our success.
Position Responsibilities:
Review your work schedule and prepare for operations by performing safety checks on equipment and gathering necessary supplies. Conduct regular tractor inspections, complete checklists, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine repairs as needed. Execute major repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, ignition systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and more. Service and repair refrigeration units, including fixing leaks and recharging systems with approved refrigerants.
Utilize electric arc welding equipment to repair or construct necessary equipment. Assist in on-road service operations, maintain logs and records, and keep your work area organized and clean. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, ensuring all equipment is secure at the end of your shift and conducting general housekeeping tasks.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience 6-12 months of experience in truck/automotive maintenance preferred; ability to interpret data from a variety of sources including drawings, specifications, charts, and diagnostic equipment.
