About the role

The Digital Editor is a hands-on lead content role with accountability for driving online page views, traffic referrals and social engagement for their brand as well as supporting the brand’s broader e-commerce goals via the production of effective affiliate content.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Editor and lead a team of content producers to ideate and execute a daily content plan that aligns with the above goals and overarching brand strategy. Additionally, regular monitoring of the celebrity news cycle will be required, and the ability to respond quickly to content opportunities – both on the website, on socials and via EDM.

A strong eye for an angle and the ability to craft eye-catching headlines suitable for social, web and Search is required, and excellent knowledge of SEO and expertise to monitor performance, report back and learn from relevant data insights will be crucial in this role.

Duties

Creating & Conceptualising
Manage daily content plan for site, ensuring output will meet traffic targets.
Contribute to the daily content plan by regular monitoring of trends and news as well as ideating original omnichannel content ideas.
Contribute multiple SEO-optimised stories daily to a high standard and to rolling deadlines.
Monitor sites for tone, style and ensuring content is on brand.
Write engaging online articles and edit work by team members across the site and social channels, as required, to ensure quality and brand voice is upheld. Oversee EDM sends where necessary.
Implement commercial brief responses and manage implementation responsibilities accordingly to ensure promises are met.
Ensure e-commerce (shoppable content) targets are met.
Leverage analytics and data to develop new editorial ideas and amplification strategies that will engage core readers, grow audience and achieve targets.
Skills and experience

4-6 years’ experience writing celebrity content in digital media – experience in fast-paced newsroom environment desirable
Experience with content management systems, photo editing and analytic tools
Strong understanding and experience managing social media platforms and communities
Strong content ideation skills and ability to pivot and adapt to ensure growth
Strong understanding of SEO
Strong eye for an angle and excellent headline writing ability
Relevant tertiary qualification
Basic understanding of commercial drivers for websites and digital sales processes
Preferred Experience working with some of the following tools: Conductor, Trackonomics, Google Analytics, Dash Hudson, Canva, Wordpress, Monday
