What is the opportunity?

The Director, Marketing Talent Growth & Management is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and executing RBC Marketing's talent strategy. This individual will lead the development and implementation of programs and initiatives focused on attracting, developing, retaining, and maximizing the potential of marketing professionals across the organization. The Director will partner closely with marketing leaders, Human Resources, and learning and development teams to build a high-performing, engaged, and future-ready marketing workforce that drives business success.

What will you do?
Develop and Implement Talent Growth Strategies: Define and implement comprehensive talent strategies aligned with RBC's overall business goals and the specific needs of the marketing organization. This includes workforce planning, skills gap analysis, and career path development.
Executive Engagement: Interface regularly with the CMO in Canada and Marketing VPs to understand talent needs, provide insights on talent development initiatives, and ensure alignment on talent priorities.
Lead Talent Management Programs: Design, implement, and oversee programs focused on performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development within the marketing function.
Foster a Culture of Learning and Development: Champion a culture of continuous learning and development by identifying learning needs, sourcing or developing relevant training programs, and promoting internal mobility and growth opportunities.
Drive Employee Engagement and Retention: Develop and execute strategies to enhance employee engagement, foster a positive and inclusive work environment, and reduce attrition within the marketing team.
Partner with Human Resources: Collaborate effectively with HR business partners, recruitment teams, and compensation and benefits to ensure consistent and effective talent management practices.
Enhance Onboarding and Integration: Develop and optimize onboarding programs to ensure new marketing hires are effectively integrated into the organization and quickly become productive contributors.
Stay Abreast of Industry Trends: Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging trends and best practices in talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement.
Build and Mentor Talent (Indirectly): While not directly managing a team in the same way as a functional leader, this role will influence and guide the development of marketing talent across the organization.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful talent management strategies and programs within a complex organization.
Strong understanding of talent management principles, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development.
Experience in leading large scale change management initiatives
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:

Experience within the financial services industry.
Experience in change management initiatives.
