Job Summary
As the Director of Education and Assessment, you will lead a team of experts in shaping education policies and strategies for the State Government of Victoria, Australia. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the education sector and proven experience in delivering high-quality services.

About the Role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Key responsibilities include:
• Providing authoritative advice and reporting to government on curriculum and assessment development and delivery via evidence-based methodologies.
• Addressing all matters related to the authority's statutory responsibilities and operations.
• Analyzing emerging curriculum and assessment issues and trends.
• Coordinating the development of policies, guidelines, and strategies to support education across VCAA's responsibilities from birth to adulthood.

About You
This role requires a transformational change leader with outstanding record of leadership and management of multidisciplinary teams. A track record of building high-performing specialist capability and creating a climate where new ideas and perspectives are encouraged is essential. Additionally, ability to negotiate with stakeholders, peers, industry bodies, and other government agencies with skills in understanding views, gaining cooperation, and achieving influence on strategic or business priorities is required.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate technical curriculum knowledge, including a good understanding of the education sector and experience in successfully delivering a suite of services in a well-planned, coordinated, compliant, and transparent manner. A strong record of large-scale reform in the public sector and ability to work under pressure and meet tight schedules is also essential.
