The Director - Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the organization. This includes ensuring that all operational processes, policies and procedures are followed in accordance with industry standards and regulations. The Director Operations will work closely with the senior management team to develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, optimize processes and enhance the overall quality of service provided to clients.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily operations of the organization, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, and custody standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, optimize processes and enhance the overall quality of service provided to clients.
• Perform and manage the daily custody operations along with the team.
• Ensure that all operational risks are identified, monitored and managed in accordance with industry best practices.
• Escalate client issues and complaints on operational matters to higher-level management, when necessary.
• Manage and mentor the operations team, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are meeting their performance objectives.
• Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement business plans and operational budgets.
• Ensure that all operational reports are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
• Communicate and implement firm operational guidelines and policies.
• Monitor and manage operational costs.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners, providing excellent customer service and support.
• Ensure operational excellence and solve any issues that arise.
• Coach and educate all employees on operational policies and procedures.
• Train and manage operational support staff.
• Responsible for overall hiring and people management (retention, exit/termination, promotions, training, mentoring, appraisals,etc.,) of the custody operational support staff
• Quickly build a team of custody operations staff through hiring and Go-live with the custody operations
• Implement service excellence standards, including coaching and educating operational support staff on the client experience best practices and suitability.
• Support and drive strategic initiatives of the firm.
• Monitor industry developments and trends, staying up-to-date on emerging technologies and best practices.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in operations management, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
• Experience with custody and security procedures for digital assets.
• Prior experience working in an ADGM regulated entity is good to have.
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with excellent people management, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, with experience in the financial services industry and knowledge of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. They will be able to lead and manage teams, collaborate effectively with senior management, and ensure that all operational processes are followed in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
