Purpose

The Director, Product Management reports into the Vice President, Information Technology & Digital Transformation.

Our company, a leader in providing compelling and unique rail journeys, is looking to innovate within the rail tourism industry by delivering cutting-edge solutions that transform our guest experience. We are seeking a highly innovative and collaborative Director of Product Management to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic vision, building out a winning team and leading the execution of our technology product portfolio. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the product operating model, with a proven track record of leading product managers and cross-functional teams in delivering exceptional employee and guest experiences.


Key Areas of Accountability

Leadership & Team Development : Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Demonstrate a clear understanding of your role as the primary coach of your product managers, and how that differs from managing products directly.
Strategic Leadership: Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company's goals and market opportunities. Lead quarterly product planning and ensure teams are aligned with strategic goals and focused on solving the most impactful business problems.
Product Development : Set the practice and role model leading the product lifecycle from ideation to value realization by ensuring the delivery of timely insights, prototypes, tests, and solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure cohesive product development and go-to-market strategies. Partner closely with the Director, Engineering to optimize delivery processes and ensure high quality outcomes.
Market Analysis: Set standards for c onducting thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Ensure insights tie directly to shaping the long term direction of our products.
Guest Focus : Champion guest centric thinking across the organization, ensuring guest needs and feedback are integral to our objectives and technology product development decisions.
Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation across the organization, by introducing new methods and tools that encourage creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement. Drive the sharing and scaling of innovation practices across the organization.
Performance Metrics : Establish and monitor objectives and key results (OKRs) across product teams. Hold product managers accountable for outcomes, using data to drive focus, alignment, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
Experience

10 years’ experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Deep understanding of the product operating model and agile methodologies.
Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, driving collaboration and achieving results.
Skills

Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Work Environment

Vancouver based; hybrid role with a minimum 3 days in the office.
Compensation

The base salary offered for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
