The position directs the administration of the Office of the Assistant Director-General, Supreme District and Land Courts’ Service (‘the Directorate’) providing oversight and co-ordination of activities undertaken both within the Directorate and more broadly across the SDLCS. The Directorate directly engages more than 130 registry staff in the Queen Elizabeth II Courts of Law and supports and directs all other staff who perform SDLCS work across Queensland supporting 71 Judges.
The position provides high level strategic analysis, information, advice and support to the ADG and leads the day-to-day management of a small professional team. A critical aspect of the position is to identify linkages and opportunities for improvement and streamlining of systems and processes operating across the SDLCS, Court Services Queensland and the justice system generally.
Responsibilities Include
Manage the Directorate.
Provide expert, comprehensive and timely strategic advice and support to the Assistant Director-General on key issues impacting SDLCS operations and strategic objectives.
Undertake projects of a complex, sensitive or contentious nature as assigned by the Assistant Director-General.
Have oversight of, prepare or edit high level submissions, reports, papers, statements, briefings and correspondence relating to significant issues and coordinate the preparation of branch responses on a wide range of subjects.
Establish and maintain review mechanisms to effectively monitor outcomes to provide high level support and advice to the Assistant Director-General in relation to governance, projects, and operational activity across the division.
Establish and foster collaborative networks and partnerships to enhance, develop and identify opportunities to facilitate the effective and efficient implementation of solutions.
Oversee and report on branch performance in areas including finance and human resources.
Design and implement strategies and undertake high level research and analysis activities to establish and progress SDLCS priorities.
