Downsizing Helper (Casual)

We are looking for an energetic, reliable team member to work alongside our current team members on a casual basis from June 2nd to August 2+th, 2025. This summer casual position is up to 5 days per week during weekdays, typically 4-6 hours per shift, with a typical start time of +:00 AM. We help seniors declutter, pack, move to their new home, set up their new home, clear out their original home, and clean their original home. There is a possibility of extending the casual position to a part-time position for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with packing, unpacking, and organizing household items as directed by the Project Manager.
· Adapt to varying duties based on the specific needs of each client.
· Lift and carry items safely; employees are expected to be able to lift their packed items (a maximum of 30 pounds).
· Exercise sound judgment to identify and prioritize tasks on the job site.
· Complete daily timecards and required paperwork promptly and accurately.
· Perform cleaning tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
· Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
· Maintain a professional and respectful demeanour when interacting with clients, ensuring their privacy and dignity are upheld.
· Carefully handle valuable and fragile items, paying close attention to avoid damage.
· Willingness to learn – picture protection, picture hanging, TV mounting, computer/printer set-up, etc.
Qualifications:
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Previous experience working with seniors is preferred.
· Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail, especially when handling delicate or valuable objects.
· Professional communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Must have:
· A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle to drive to and from work. Travelling to different work locations is required.
· Physical capability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
Hours of Work and Flexibility:
· Schedule varies based on project needs. The following week's schedule is provided to the team on the Friday prior.
· Typically, the start time is +:00 AM and the end time is 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Other
· Our wage is $17-$21 per hour.
· We will require a Police Clearance check upon hiring and a copy of the driver’s licence.
