About The Role:
As a Drainlayer, you will be responsible for planning, inspecting, and ensuring the quality of drainage work, including laying, repairing, and connecting drains for water infrastructure projects.


Responsibilities:
Supervise drainage installations (pipes, subsoil drainage, manholes) for accurate alignment and secure connections.
Perform trench excavation, potholing, and pipeline laying, managing water flow and trench stability.
Train and support team members to maintain high safety and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental standards, and company policies.
Requirements:
Registered Drainlayer with the ability to gain Certification under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (PGDB).
Strong knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and health & safety best practices.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
Leadership and organisational skills to manage and delegate tasks to a small team.
Basic numeracy skills (NCEA Level 2 Maths or equivalent) for daily calculations.
