Responsibilities Indicative years of experience : 2+ years Role Description Provide Technical, Customer and Team deliveries for successful database administration Reporting Relationship This role will report to Delivery Manager Key Responsibilities • Physical implementation and support of DB2 LUW databases. • Maintain, Monitor, Troubleshoot and Tune databases for efficiency & stability of environments. • SQL Query tuning. • Database helpdesk support. • Capability to troubleshoot & work on reported production issues. • Backup and recovery of databases. • Collaborate with data modelers, project teams and vendors to implement database changes. • Ensure secure database by creating and following corporate security policies. • Consult with developers on design, conversions and testing data needs. • Develop & record certified processes/procedures for DBA support group. Required Skills • Experience in the creation and configuration of new Unix and Linux database server environments and creation of new 11.x & higher version database environments. • Technical knowledge and experience with database environments, tools, utilities, configurations, backup and recovery, job scheduling, release management, change management and compliance. • Management of database elements, including creation, alteration, deletion and copying of schemas, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints. • Knowledge of all key DB2/LUW utilities such as HADR, Reorg, Runstats, Load. • Hands on experience of upgrades or fix packs. • Excellent troubleshooting skills. • Strong collaboration with application development teams on database security, query optimization and performance. • Creation and management of the database maintenance processes and jobs (such as backups, weekly DBA maintenance trails, statistics, reorgs). • Document database maintenance processing flows per standards. • Experience with SQL, Shell & Pearl scripting and automation of database maintenance processes. • Ansible knowledge is added advantage. • Hands on experience on Performance tuning of SQL query & database. • Strong knowledge of relational database. Experience with physical database design to provide optimal performance. Process Adherence • Ensure Compliance with PGS / BU specific SDLC / Execution practices (like defect management, prevention, efforts tracking etc) • Provide input for maintaining delivery metrics • Contribute in release planning and co-ordination Other Contribution • Participate in BU level initiatives,Knowledge Management, Operational Efficiency, code jams etc. Qualifications Must Have Education: Graduate Bachelors degree (any stream) Other: Sound technical skills, inter personal skills, good experience in estimation methodologies, excellent communication and time management skills required Competencies • Embrace Change • Build strong Partnership • Get results • Act Strategically Workplace Flexibility Option In-Office few days a week and Work from Home
