Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with +.+% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Salary: $85,650.76 per annum

The Economic Development Engagement Coordinator will facilitate economic development outcomes for small towns and precincts within the Greater Shepparton region that are aligned with the Economic Development, Visitor Economy and Major Events (EDVE&ME) Strategy. The role will act as a conduit between small town business owners and the broader Council and facilitate positive change such as activation opportunities and other initiatives to attract foot traffic and prosperity to small towns and precincts.
The role will also be responsible for supporting local business within the municipality whilst also applying a dedicated effort towards the growth and development of multicultural and Indigenous businesses within the region.
The Economic Development Engagement Coordinator will play an important role in supporting business in relation to renewables energy opportunities and in addition coordinating the recently introduced Business Big Ideas Festival.
