Electrical BIM/Drafting Technician

Based in Darwin, this role will support our electrical and multidisciplinary engineering teams by delivering high-quality drafting and BIM modelling across a variety of sectors including health, education, commercial, civic, urban and recreational. Your typical day may include:

Preparing drawings, plans and models of electrical building services and installations
Assisting Electrical Engineers and Designers/Technologists in the design and layout of electrical building services and installations
Coordinating electrical drawings and models with other disciplines and architectural models
Inspecting site electrical installations and providing input and feedback to designs and finished products for compliance with specifications and regulations
Supporting project delivery through design updates, mark-ups and document coordination
Contributing to national drafting and BIM standards, templates and workflows under the guidance of senior technical leads
Working within multidisciplinary project teams to ensure coordinated, clash-free outcomes
Supporting continuous improvement and innovation in drafting and modelling practices
This role plays an important part in the technical quality and efficiency of project delivery across our national business.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are a capable and detail-oriented Electrical BIM/Drafting Technician who brings:

Experience in electrical, building services or multidisciplinary drafting
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (MEP experience highly regarded)
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation
Ability to interpret engineering sketches, mark-ups and design instructions
Good understanding of coordination across building and infrastructure services
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative national team
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
A willingness to learn, grow and contribute to continual improvement
It would also be highly advantageous if you have:

Experience in the Victorian or national building services market
Exposure to BIM management, workflows or quality assurance
Knowledge of electrical building services
Experience using Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms
Certificate or tertiary qualification in drafting, design or building services
