Job Description

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electrician Helper in Piedmont, SC with the ability to travel. Our client is a commercial construction company. The Electrician Helper is responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures on new construction, maintenance, or repair job sites. The position will assist in work on underground cable and conduit installation, terminating, and equipment installations.

Responsibilities Of a Electricians Helper Includes
• Identify all tools required for tasks
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Assist in the cutting, bending, and running of conduit as specified on blueprints.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and fabrication of cable tray as necessary according to specifications
• Assist in pulling cable through specified pathways
• Assist in the assembly and installation of electrical equipment
• Assist in terminating wires and cables to electrical equipment such as, but not limited to, breakers, control panels, and distribution systems
• Assist in the testing of electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
• Assist in the inspection of electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and to ensure the equipment is in good operations condition.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of temporary power systems.
• Assist in the installation of and maintenance of the grounding systems for all equipment and structures
• Assist in hoisting of equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane
• Measure and cut pipes conduit to length using steel tape
• Thread conduit end using pipe threader, connect couplings and conduit fittings using proper tools.
• Strip insulation from wire ends using wire stripping pliers
• Secure bracket to the bulkhead with screw and bold and pull wire through conduit leading to connection boxes and switch panels
• Fabricate conduit support brackets from strap iron strips, using a hacksaw, shaping dies, hammer, and punch

Job Requirements Of An Electricians Helper
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• High level of integrity and dedication

• Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
• Ability to problem-solve under diverse and changing conditions
• Willingness to learn with a positive attitude
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in high-paced, stressful team environments
• Requires travel and flexible hours, including weekends to meet customer requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ years of related work experience and working knowledge of access controls and camera systems preferred
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
• Knowledge of material methods, and tools involved in construction
