Job Description:The Maintenance Mechanic will service equipment. This role performs repairs, corrections, replacement, inspections, documents, and files accordingly and reports back to the Maintenance Supervisor.Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment; primarily loaders, shears, grapple, skid steers, forklifts, tractor/trailer.Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as required.Follow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all times.Work independently in the absence of direct supervision.Prepare all necessary documentation (Bill of Ladings, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Tool Orders).Maintain conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, and PLCs.Welding, grinding, and weld set-up.Set up and break down machinery.Maintain 5-S program (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).Job Requirements/Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Problem-solving abilities.Welding and grinding skills.Ability to sort and identify tools and parts.Pass a pre-employment drug screening.Pass a pre-employment background check.Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary.Education/Experience:High school diploma or GED, Trade school.Minimum of 2 years experience in Maintenance/Mechanic.Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, walk, and stoop for long periods of time.Able to climb in/on mobile equipment.Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather.
