About the role

We have an opportunity for a Computer Systems Officer to be part of our Recording Technology and Services, Technology and Communication Services Command (TCSC). The Computer Systems Officer maintains, supports and assists with the storage and management of multimedia recordings of TCSC systems in the most efficient manner.

Target Question 1:

This role will be responsible for the digital conversion and long-term archiving of evidentiary multimedia files. Describe the process you would use to convert evidentiary multimedia files to optimise storage efficiency while maintaining evidentiary integrity. What tools or software you would utilise, which file containers and codec selections you would consider?

Target Question 2:

Describe the process you would use to extract the audio stream from an evidentiary multimedia file? What tools or software you would utilise, and what file format would you export the audio to? Explain the rationale for choosing that specific format.
