About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) who regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW. This role sits more specifically in our Advanced Analytics team and will cover the provision of analysis, implementation of advanced analytics and research activities, utilising a myriad of large, complex data sets, to help SIRA regulate and improve the three insurance schemes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform descriptive analysis in with data sets of varying size and complexity
Use scripting language, including SQL, R and Python to meet complex business data requirements, as well involvement in development and testing activities.
Coordinating with team members and coding best practices with source control systems such as GIT
Maintain different data sets for the purpose of conducting reporting and analysis activities.
About you:
Can think outside the box to solve complex scenarios.
Can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Have working knowledge of business intelligence and analytics platforms such as R, SAS, PowerBI
Demonstrated experience in writing queries in SQL
Experience in source control systems such as GIT
Tertiary qualifications and/or professional/industry accreditation and/or relevant industry experience in data analysis
Effective communicator who can explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
Experience with human services datasets is desirable
