Teaching Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and must hold a current Police Check or be in the process of obtaining one, in order to work at Melbourne Girls Grammar. Professional Support Staff Applicants must hold or prior to commencing employment, be willing to obtain a current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check (Employee Type).

About this Role:
Fixed term (1 Year Leave Replacement)
Part time 0.65FTE
Commencing Term 1 2026, or by negotiation
Teaching English (Middle and Senior Years)
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and literacy skills
Contribute to curriculum design and assessment practices within the English Faculty
Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to engage diverse learners
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance programs and promote excellence in English
Uphold MGGS’s commitment to child safety in all aspects of teaching and school life
About You:
Hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or can gain VIT registration. Teaching graduates are encouraged to apply.
Deep understanding of curriculum requirements and best practice teaching strategies
A passion for literature, writing, and fostering student voice
Skilled at building meaningful, respectful relationships with students and colleagues
Enthusiastic about introducing innovative, student-centred teaching methods that inspire and engage
Collaborative and creative mindset, committed to enhancing learning programs and student outcomes
