Summary of the role

The Innovation Coordinator II will be joining Bruyère’s nationally recognized health innovation team as we advance the development, evaluation, adoption, and scaling of healthcare technologies within Bruyère and across Canada. The Innovation Coordinator II is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day research activities of the innovation team. Key responsibilities include providing support in areas such as grant submissions, completion of ethics materials, data collection and analysis, daily logistics to ensure that project objectives are met and project stakeholders are supported, manuscript drafting and other duties as required.

Reporting to Program Manager, the incumbent will also support the implementation and evaluation of innovation projects across Bruyère.


Main duties and responsibilities

Innovation Coordination Activities

Coordinate the day-to-day activities related to innovation projects
Conduct training and provide technical support to project stakeholders
Work with hospital staff on the many day‑to‑day tasks required to implement and evaluate innovation projects
Provide staff and patients with training on new technology
Provide hospital staff with support when piloting an innovation
Provide support on the development and implementation of project learnings (knowledge transfer)
Manage multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines and deliverables
Present innovations to individuals or small groups to engage them in the project
Liaise with project stakeholders for report edits and feedback
Support the grant submissions process
Write project reports for funders and internal stakeholders
Conduct data gathering and analysis for reports (when focused on project coordination deliverables)
Support innovation team with reviews of companies
Research Activities

Coordinate data gathering and analysis for innovation and research projects
Support innovation team with literature reviews
Write manuscripts for publications
Conduct data gathering and analysis for reports (when tied to research outcomes)
Complete new ethics applications with input from Program Manager or senior team members
Conduct straightforward data manipulation using appropriate software
Financial Support

Draft business cases for potential projects.
Draft financial projections for small/straightforward projects
Draft final reports for stakeholders
Administrative Support

Assist Innovation team in the hiring of students, if necessary
Take initiative to support team goals and pitch-in with tasks as required

Additional duties may be added as projects progress


Qualifications

Master’s degree in relevant field
2 years relevant project coordination experience within healthcare and/or innovation, including areas such as project coordination and planning, budget development and knowledge of granting agency requirements and sound knowledge of innovation principles

Key Competencies

Excellent oral & written communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, ideally rooted in change management theory
Good negotiating, influencing, and training skills to effectively work with a variety of stakeholders
Good risk assessment and conflict resolution skills with understanding of when to escalate issues to other team members
Experience working with sensitive and private information
Good analytical, creative problem-solving and organizational skills
Demonstrated level of independence in completing projects on time
Entrepreneurial/self-starter/ability to take initiative.
Extremely detail oriented
Strong time management skills
Flexible and able to pivot and adapt to changing deliverables and timelines
Forward thinking, with the ability to identify potential issues before they arise
Excellent computer skills (i.e., MS Office Suite)
Ability to manage virtual and in-person meetings
Strong writing skills and publication experience
Fluent in French and English, an asset, both written and spoken
PMP or CAPM Certification is an asset
